Nurse
Practitioner Association New York State (NPANYS)
The Nurse Practitioner
Association New York State (NPANYS) was organized as an advocate for nurse
practitioners in New York State. Since its inception, NPANYS has been
a driving force in the evolution of NP enabling legislation while actively
raising public awareness of NPs. Today, NPANYS remains committed to its
mission of providing continuing education for NPs; educating the public
including other health care professionals and government officials about
the role of NPs; fostering communication between NPs; and encouraging
high standards of NP educational preparation and practice. The Coalition
is a non-profit organization.
The Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM)
The Postgraduate Institute
for Medicine (PIM) www.pimed.com
is a full-service medical communications company, which has produced an
extensive array of continuing professional development activities on a
turnkey basis since 1979. PIM is accredited by the Accreditation Council
for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical
education for physicians; by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education
(ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education; and is an
approved provider of continuing education by the Colorado Nurses Association,
an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s
Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). PIM produces hundreds of unique educational
activities annually, including national and regional symposia; consultant/consensus
conferences; teleconferences; videoconferences; and online education courses.
These offerings, which are supported by virtually every major US pharmaceutical
company, are developed to enhance physician and other health professionals’
training and influence their behavior for the purpose of improving health
outcomes. In addition to producing their own activities, PIM partners
with non-accredited organizations to provide continuing education credit
for physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.
